Illinois Governor Appoints New Tourism Director. Newly inaugurated Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner has named Cory Jobe to be director of the Illinois Division of Tourism. Jobe, an alderman from Springfield, has served as deputy chief of staff to the state’s comptroller. He will transition to the new post full-time after the completion of the state’s legislative session ends. In the interim, Jobe will split time between being director of tourism and working for the comptroller. The target date for completion of the session is May 31. Jobe takes over from the departing Jen Hoelzle, who had served in the position since 2012 under outgoing Gov. Pat Quinn.
