The role also assumes responsibility for Thomas Cook Sport. Alex Appelmann has been appointed to the newly created role of commercial director. He was previously group commercial in Oberursel, Germany where he has was director of product, planning and portfolio management in a group-wide role. Gardner has been with the company for more than 3 years, having joined from TUI Travel. Appelman has been with Thomas Cook for nearly five years.
